We got maybe an inch of dry snow and a light ice glaze last night. The locals are fond of assuring us newcomers "As soon as the sun comes up it will all melt."

I had hoped to call my blog "The Dog's Breakfast," but that name was long since taken. But in that spirit "The Breakfast" offers a little of this and a little of that, not all of it pretty, some of it poorly chewed. Enjoy the high desert. It is the best place to be. Meanwhile, any thoughts on http://freethoughtreport.com/map/? Thirteen countries give the death penalty to atheists. As for what countries are considered "free and equal" for the non-believers (despite the best efforts of Mr. Penn), it seems the U.S. is not one of them.
